One of my favourite self-love rituals while I’m in Noosa is to visit the Noosa Springs Spa. The facility is equipped with a hydro-massage pool, floatation pool, infrared sauna, steam room, blitz shower and thermal capsule. It is an experience of total bliss and I promise after a few hours in the thermal suite along with a massage, fully body scrub or facial you’ll come away feeling completely rejuvenated.
A visit to the Noosa Springs Spa begins with a refreshing welcome drink of freshly squeezed lime juice to stimulate your senses. After that, you shower and change into your swimwear, white robe and matching spa slippers. It’s important to shower before you use the facilities to remove any moisturisers or perfume residue on your skin.
What you do from here on in will vary depending on the package you’ve booked for the day. Whether you book a single treatment or a full day at the spa you can’t go wrong because honestly no matter what you choose I guarantee you’ll walk out feeling like a pampered goddess.
To help you decide exactly how you are going to spoil and pamper yourself I’ve prepared a list of a few different treatments you can experience on your totally indulgent spa day.
This is one of my favourite de-stress zones at the Noosa Springs Spa facility. The filtered water is oxygenised and heated to a pleasantly warm temperature. The pool is filled with a variety of jets, providing a hydro-massage that will relax every part of your body. One of my favouite features about the pool is that it is chlorine-free!
In Chinese Medicine it is believed that keeping a balance between opposites, ying & yang or in this case hot & cold is very important. With this in mind, I use the blitz shower in between each treatment. The powerful water jets and cold-water temperature help to stimulate the circulatory system and awaken tired muscles.
This pool is heated to near body temperature and is highly mineralised. Located in a separate room, the pool is private so you won´t be disturbed by other guests. You can choose to float in complete darkness for a unique sensory experience or relax with soft lighting from the starlit ceiling.
This type of sauna is great if you usually find it difficult to tolerate the extreme heat of regular saunas. Although the heat is less intense it still has amazing health benefits! The infrared heat penetrates the body, which helps to detoxify and cleanse the body of toxins.
This room has amazing affects on your skin. The warm steam opens your pores allowing impurities to be eliminated through your skin. This experience will leave your skin looking fresh and completely clean.
It’s important to sip water throughout the thermal suite experience, as your body will be eliminating toxins rapidly. You will also want to do this to avoid dehydration… especially when using the sauna! The spa provides water stations throughout the facility so I usually try to have a glass of water or two between each treatment.
I haven’t tried the thermal capsule yet but I can tell you that the Dead Sea Mud body wrap in the capsule would be a great way to detox and achieve super soft skin.
I cannot recommend the full body massage enough! It feels completely indulgent and helps to relax every part of your body and calm your mind. They also offer a hot stone massage, which I’d love to try at my next visit!
There are a variety of body treatments you can choose from so it’s best to look at the menu on the Noosa Springs Spa website but to give you a quick overview…
Body scrubs help to remove dead skin cells, leaving your skin feeling soft and silky smooth. This exfoliation technique invigorates the skin and promotes regeneration of new skin cells.
Body wraps help to detoxify and cleanse the body of toxins while hydrating the skin cells, leaving your skin feeling pure and soft.
There is a whole menu of facials to choose from but each will leave your skin absolutely glowing with natural beauty. The spa uses organic skin care products that are free from artificial colours, fragrances, genetically modified ingredients, parabens, sulphates, mineral oils and petroleum.
Depending on your package your spa experience will usually wrap up with a glass of fresh juice or champagne in the tranquil relaxation lounge areas.
My Top Tips:
1.Turn your phone off and put it in your locker at the beginning of your spa session. Do this so that you can avoid distraction, have a break from technology and be fully present in the moment. This way you can totally relax and get the most out of the experience.
2.If a massage is included in your package, make sure to bring your own underwear as the disposable underwear provided are one-size-fits-all and not very comfortable… or flattering.
3.Pack your own organic shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturiser to avoid putting on any nasty chemicals after your cleansing spa experience.
4.Avoid putting make-up on your freshly cleansed skin for as long as possible (preferably over-night) as your pores will still be open from the steam.
5.Make sure to dry your hair and dress warmly when leaving the spa to avoid catching a chill.
The Noosa Springs Spa is an absolutely beautiful facility and every experience I have had there has been totally blissful! You can enjoy this experience on your own, share it with your girlfriends or even spend the day with your partner.
