 Hello my gorgeous soul sister,

I am so thrilled that you have taken the time to be here with me today because in this article we are diving into an ocean of love… self-love! I am going to be teaching you what self-love really means and why it is so incredibly important for us to be practicing it DAILY. I will be helping you to breakthrough the limiting belief that “self-love is selfish”, plus I’ll be providing a list of my absolute favourite self-love rituals that you can start incorporating into your routine TODAY! I’ll also be sharing how you can get your hot little hands on some of my amazing resources, for FREE!!! Oh my goodness I am sooooo excited for you.

 What Is Self-Love?

Self-love means making your health and happiness your #1 priority. It means filling yourself up first, before you give to the needs of others. Ultimately, self-love means having the highest respect for your own well-being.

 Why Practicing Self-Love Daily Is Vital To Your Wellbeing!

Making a conscious decision to practice self-love daily is like sending the universe a message that YOU MATTER and that YOU ARE WORHTY AND DESERVING OF FEELING YOUR BEST! Practicing self-love regularly brings abundance in all areas of your life.

If you practice self-love regularly you will see these positive benefits from it in your life:

  • You will look and feel vital (literally glowing with health)
  • You will have energy to be physically active
  • You will feel motivated and inspired to make healthy food choices
  • You will foster healthy & happy relationships
  • You will enjoy being social
  • You will experience joy in your daily life
  • You will have a closer connection to yourself and everything around you
  • You will experience an abundance of creative energy
  • You will have a positive money mindset and financial freedom
  • You will enjoy your work
  • You will feel motivated and inspired to learn and grow
  • You will take care of the space you live in with pride and look after your belongings with care


When you don’t prioritise self-love, it can lead to:

  • Dis-ease in the body
  • Burnout and fatigue
  • Poor food choices and unhealthy eating habits
  • Toxic relationships and relationship breakdowns
  • Social isolation
  • Depression, anxiety, stress, overwhelm, anger, frustration
  • Disconnect from yourself and your environment
  • Creative blocks
  • Turbulent relationship with money
  • Dissatisfaction in your work
  • Lack of interest to learn and grow
  • Taking little care of the space you live in or your belongings

 I was a self-love advocate long before I became a Mama. I practiced what I preached DAILY, and I thrived because of it. However, for the first few years after I had my little ones I didn’t take the same level of care for myself and because of this my physical and mental health suffered greatly (hello Postnatal Depression)! It wasn’t until I started incorporating some of my self-love rituals back into my days that I really started to thrive in my role as a Mama and enjoy life again.

Why Self-Love Is Not Selfish!

Many people go through life with the limiting belief that self-love is selfish… that putting your needs before the needs of someone else is not okay. The funny thing is that self-love is the opposite of being selfish. In my wedding vows I promised Patrick that I would do the work necessary on myself daily, to be able to show up as the best wife and Mama possible. That “work” is self-love my friend! I want to fill up my cup to a place of overflow so that I can pour that love over every single person that I encounter. If I don’t consciously fill up my cup, the cup will run dry and I will have nothing left to give to others.

A special note for my Mama’s:

I’m not saying you should ignore your babies cries to get in your self-love time. Sometimes self-love simply means getting up early in the morning before your little one so you can enjoy some uninterrupted “You” time. Sometimes self-love means enjoying a cup of herbal tea for five minutes while your baby sleeps. I understand it can be challenging to find the time for this important practice, which is why I highly recommend you schedule it in! Organise some baby-free time, ideally everyday and minimum once a week, where you can have some time just for you. Remember to ask for help! You do not need to “do it all” on your own!!!

 What Does Self-Love Look Like?

Self-love will look different for everyone, the things that fill me up and recharge my batteries may be different to yours and that’s okay. As a guide, here are a few ideas to get you started…

My Favourite Self-Love Rituals:

  • Have a goddess bath with magnesium, essential oils, candles & crystals
  • Do a face mask or face scrub
  • Massage your entire body in organic coconut oil while repeating to yourself “I love you”
  • Do a hair mask
  • Paint your nails with toxin-free polish
  • Dry body brush & exfoliate
  • Meditate
  • Lye in the sunshine
  • Swim in the ocean or a freshwater lake
  • Walk barefoot in nature
  • Star-gaze
  • Sit still under the moonlight
  • Pick fresh flowers
  • Sing as loud as you want
  • Dance naked or in your favourite lingerie
  • Enjoy a cup of herbal tea
  • Get creative with mindful colouring
  • Create a painting or artwork
  • Journal
  • Practice affirmations
  • Read a book
  • Listen to a podcast
  • Diffuse organic essential oils
  • Light your favourite beeswax candle
  • Take yourself on a date
  • Cook your favourite meal with love
  • Allow yourself time to do nothing at all
  • Redecorate your space
  • Make a healthy treat
