DIY: Charcoal Face Mask

Cleanse your pores of toxins and impurities with this detoxifying charcoal face mask!

Hey gorgeous,

Have you ever thought of doing a detox… for your skin?

Throughout the day, our pores can become clogged with toxins from the world around us. If your pores aren’t clear you may find that you have breakouts more regularly.

When charcoal is used topically it will bind to the dirt in your pores, pulling out the toxins and leaving your skin looking and feeling fresh!

This is one of my absolute favorite self-love rituals and today I want to share my secret recipe with you!

What you will need:

1 tsp activated charcoal powder

1 tsp organic coconut oil (melted)

1 tsp raw organic honey

1 drop of lavender essential oil

How to make your mask:

1.In a small bowl mix the coconut and essential oils with the charcoal powder.

2.Add in the honey and mix well until combined and smooth.

3.Apply liberally to your face and neck.

4.Allow the mixture to soak into your skin for 10 – 15 minutes before washing off with warm water and cleanser if needed.

5.Gently pat your skin dry and apply your favourite moisturiser or facial oil.

Top Tips:

Charcoal can stain fabrics and even your sink so make sure to avoid getting it on your clothes and clean it off your sink immediately.

Benefits:

*Charcoal helps to detoxify and cleanse your pores of toxins and impurities

*Coconut Oil is super hydrating, antibacterial, antifungal and smells like a tropical holiday!

*Honey is also antibacterial and helps to soothe and soften the skin

*Lavender is often used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as acne, eczema and inflammatory conditions

*Helps to balance oily skin

*Reduces the appearance of pores

*Helps to repair and rejuvenate skin cells

*Reduces skin blemishes and redness

If you want a clear, glowing complexion I recommend doing this mask once a week on top of cleansing and moisturising morning and night. Of course a truly glowing complexion starts from the inside, so make sure to drink plenty of filtered water throughout the day and eat/drink lots of greens! Both will help to cleanse your body from the inside out.

So gorgeous, I hope after using this cleansing face mask you’ll feel totally fresh and clean-faced!

Love Kat
