How To Supercharge Your Health With Superherbs!

Today you and I are diving deep into the world of medicinal herbs. I’m so excited to empower YOU with the knowledge of how to harness the power of Adaptogens, to support your health and supercharge your vitality.

What exactly are Adaptogens?

Adaptogens are like the superfoods of the herbal world. Herbs have been used for their healing and medicinal properties for approximately 60,000 years, dating back to the Palaeolithic age. Plant powered medicine has been used in both mainstream and alternative health practices since then to support health and heal disease. However not all herbs are created equal…. There are herbs and then there are SUPERHERBS, aka Adaptogens.

What can Adaptogens do?

Adaptogens are powerful and potent but non-toxic in normal therapeutic doses and help the body to retore optimal homeostasis, if this has been altered by physical, biological, emotional, or environmental stressors. In other words, Adaptogens can assist the body to cope better with stress, support normal metabolic function, strengthen the immune system, and bring the body back into a normal healthy balance (among many other health benefits).

How to take Adaptogens:

Adaptogens can be taken a few different ways…

The simplest way to take any plant is to eat the leaf, flower, or root straight from your garden (This is in my opinion the best option). However as most adaptogens have quite specific growing needs it is more likely that you will be buying them in an extracted or preserved form (This is the easiest option).

If buying Adaptogens, these are your options:

1.Dried herbs and powders



4.Infused oils & fats

5.Infused vinegars

NOTE: Due to the unique properties of each herb it is important that you read the label to check dosage recommendations! Start with the lowest dose recommended and gradually work your way up to increase your dosage quantity (unless otherwise prescribed by your health care professional).

How do I personally use Adaptogens to support my health?

During periods where I feel like my body is out of balance and possibly not coping with stress as well as it could, I use Ashwagandha to restore the balance of my endocrine hormones. I put about a ¼ of a teaspoon into 200ml of coconut mylk with a few drops of liquid stevia and whizz it up in my milk frother. It makes for an earthy, grounding latte which I enjoy each morning… I’ll be honest, it is an acquired taste, however the strong benefits make up for the strong flavour!

Where can I get my hands on some amazing Adaptogens and which brand should I buy?

I pick up my adaptogens from my local health food store, but you can also buy them online. I personally use the brand SuperFeast. SuperFeast has an incredible range of herbs and medicinal mushrooms to choose from. Their products are made ethically from the purest, highest quality, all-natural ingredients, with all practices being earth friendly. A few other things I love about SuperFeast is that it is a family-owned business. These guys walk their talk and are based right here in Australia.
